EA’s E3 Press Briefing wrapped up not too long ago, which will not be the case possibly after this is posted. However, we..or technically I will give you the notes and reactions to some of the announcements.

Starting off this little article because I was unlucky enough to not have caught the WHOLE thing, this is what I took away from the press conference.

- DEAD SPACE 3
+ The game was demoed
+ Drop In and Out Co-Op was Announced

I haven’t finished two yet, and from watching the demo they played during the broadcast, I wasn’t floored by it. It looked alright, but kinda like Dead Space 2 not a big change in the look. I did however see some new weapons that were only shown for a few seconds during a trailer. I think I would have to see more before I make a decision on buying this or renting it…I have a lot of time to make up my mind about that being the game comes out February 13, 2013.

- MADDEN NFL 13
+ New Infinity Engine
+ Connected Careers Info
+ Mobile Integration
+ RPG Elements Added Cross Modes
+ Social Network Integration

I’ve been a little stand offish when it comes to Madden after last years game. Everything seemed to start fine and went downhill afterward. This year when they introduced the Infinity Engine, it peaked my interest. A new engine that brings near Back Breaker like tackles and animations to Madden 13. I became a fan but I’m still a little hesitant to fully commit like Madden 13 is USC and I want to be their quarterback. The other things is the fact they are bringing in RPG elements to the game in the form of the Connected Careers feature. It gives you the chance to “Create your personal legacy or relive an all-time legend’s as you build the ultimate franchise as a coach, an NFL superstar, or yourself.”. Another part that might interest you, is the fact you can manage your career across different platforms. Meaning you can control your legacy from your phone, the web or back home on your console. Overall, it wasn’t a flooring experience, but I think it will hold Madden fans over until the next thing is announced.

- BATTLEFIELD 3
+ Battlefield 3 Premium Announced

Battlefield 3 didn’t have much of a big splash during this press conference. The only thing announced is the one thing we’ve been hearing about for weeks leading up to today, and it became confirmed…today. For $49.99 you get access to all of the DLC (past and future), 20 new weapons and a bunch of other stuff. Again, this was rumored heavily leading up to the event and I am one of those people who are not very excited for the release of this premium service. Speaking of that…its available NOW for PlayStation 3 players along with the release of Close Quarters. This won’t hit PC and Xbox 360 until next week. I’m sure there are a good amount of players who are going to buy this just for the simple fact of getting the DLC early and free.

- Medal Of Honor: Warfighter
+ Gameplay Trailer Shown
+ Multi-Player Trailer Shown

I’m going to make this short, I’m not a big fan of the Medal Of Honor remakes. This one showed a little better than the first game but didn’t impress me at all. The game will release October 23, 2012.

- FIFA 13
+ New Gameplay Trailer Shown

Like Battlefield 3, not much was shown for FIFA 13. A new gameplay trailer showing off some of the features was shown and a little hype talk. I’m very interested in this game because I want to see if they’ve done anything to improve certain aspects of be a pro career mode. Only time will tell, the game comes out later this year.

- UFC and EA SPORTS ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP
My first thought was that hell had finally frozen over. Dana White completely BASHED the MMA game EA Sports put out and even threatened to blacklist any fighter who appeared in it. Now it seems he’s changed his tune and is in this partnership with EA to make the next UFC game, which could mean the UFC licence has been taken away from THQ. I thought this was HUGE, THQ has been in control of the UFC license for some time now and all of a sudden, its possibly out of their grasp.

- NEED FOR SPEED: MOST WANTED
+ Refined Autolog Featured
+ Game Demoed
+ October 30th Release Date

The Burnout Devs brought this game to E3 and it actually shocked me. I didn’t see any news leading up to the event that hinted at this game being there. While I love Criterion Games, what they showed off was pretty darn cool. You probably thought I was going to say something bad, but I’m saying the opposite! I loved the Burnout elements they integrate into the Need For Speed games they’ve made because it always adds another element for players to mess around with. That includes making your opponents crash. My attention was kept as the person demoing the game was trying to escape from the police during the race and he made this jump from the top of a platform. I look forward to seeing more from this game.

- CRYSIS 3
+ Game Demoed

While Crysis 3 had a stage demo that showed how pretty it was…it also showed how badass it was. By badass I mean I can FINALLY release my inner Hawkeye with the new Crossbow like weapon that just looks….awesome. I was impressed because seeing Crysis run on the CryTek 3 Engine just brings tears of joy to my eyes. It was a pretty solid demo of the game and I will probably end up buying it.

Overall, from what I witnessed at least, it was a sub par press briefing. I took a lot of good and some okay things from it and if you missed it, try to catch a replay or see if it’s archived on YouTube.

Ray Lewis is one of the most dominant NFL players of all time. In this trailer he gives one of his famous speeches, but this one is about legacies.

They announced that Madden 13 will include an all new, more realistic collision system called the Infinity engine. They also announced the Connected Careers mode which will mix online franchise and superstar mode all in to one. Madden 13 is slated to hit shelves August, 28 2012.

Dead Space 3 was the first game of the EA press conference.  During the press conference they showed the trailer for Dead Space 3 and Co-op gameplay (All shown below).

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgyhnU5P9dc&w=560&h=315]

From what I see in the gameplay, Dead Space does not seem nearly as scary or creepy as the last game. Also, during the monster fight, it kind of seemed like Lost Planet. I do love me some Dead Space though and can’t wait to see more. Dead Space 3 is due to come out February 13, 2013.

In Black Ops 2 you play as the son of Mason from the first Black Ops. In the video you will see a ruined Los Angeles, showing the Staples Center, new gadgets and new weaponry.

The new sniper rifle looks pretty awesome, but hopefully it’s just a singe player thing. The drones also look pretty cool even though you will be doing less as you just tell them to kill everything. It was also announced that Black Ops 2 will have exclusive DLC to the Xbox 360.

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoGyU48bhrI&w=560&h=315]

Tomb Raider: Lara’s Fortune looks like another game I have seen on PS3. I can’t put my finger on it but I think its by Naughty Dog. Even if Tomb Raider looks like Uncharted it still looks really good, it fits what Tomb Raider is. I am overall excited for the game.

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6Icl5u-N1o&w=560&h=315]

I am very excited for Resident Evil 6, even before this they had me sold. The demo makes Leon look even more bad ass than he already was. The DLC for Resident Evil 6 will be launched exclusively on Xbox 360. The game is schedule to release in the beginning of October 2012.

The Microsoft press conference started off with Halo 4. The trailer is a mixture of live action, cgi, and gameply.

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHPU65O0USk&w=560&h=315]

The vide shows the covenant and what is believed to be the Forerunners. The combat is relatively the same even though Master Chief has those new visor abilities. All the new Forerunner weaponry looks like  a stepped up version of the  covenant weapons.  343 looks like they kept Halo relatively the same with some minor changes. Future trailers and gameplay will probably change my mind.

During E3, a bomb was dropped, a bomb that some people might have known about in the past couple days. That bomb was Gears of War Judgement (trailer shown below).

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R75tsSiGVzA&w=560&h=315]

The game will follow Baird and Cole in a prequel to the first Gears of War game. The game will be coming from the same people who brought you Bulletstorm.

Easily one of my favorite game franchises released a new addition with Splinter Cell Blackist. Watch all 6 and half minutes of gameplay, it is well worth it.

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuhfD48VRGE&w=560&h=315]

The game was revealed to come out in 2013. They also revealed after the gameplay is that the game will include Spies vs. Mercenaries multiplayer. I was very excited when I heard that because that was easily my favorite thing to do in past Splinter Cell games.

Thinking back to all of the games that offer some type of boost or “time saver” pack for a fee. I kinda rant about why its a bad idea and why companies should stop offering them.

Nuns are….suppose to be…ummm….holy. Well, in this trailer for Hitman Absolution….they are….quite….NAUGHTY. That’s okay because Agent 47 takes them out the only way he knows how, silently and with as much fiber-wire and bullets possible. Watch the new trailer as Agent 47 takes out “The Saints” who are a group of women from ICA’s hit squad. You’ll see this and more when the game drops November 20th for PlayStation 3, Windows PC and Xbox 360.

Forza Motorsport 4 is a pretty darn good racer for the Xbox 360…its only for the Xbox 360. It would make sense, in the spirit of E3 and with Forza Horizons coming out pretty soon…to bundle Xbox 360’s best racing game with its console right? WELL HERE YOU HAVE IT! Microsoft announced that they will be releasing a bundle that features the 250GB Xbox 360 along with a copy of Forza Motorsport 4 and wait for it…….Wireless Racing Wheel included as well. All that stuff, for $299 and it hits store shelves in the US Mid-June. Forza fans who have been waiting to snatch up a 360…Mid June will be the perfect time to pick it up after it comes out.

To our surprise today, THQ released a handful of Metro: Last Light screens just a week before the event. These screens are set to be shown now and possibly at E3 but you get to see them here first, so HA, take that E3 floor. Check them out after the break.

The NES was and probably still in a many of homes. The days of blowing the cartridge and jamming it in (giggity) for hours upon hours of play. An article featured on Gizmodo shows Apple TV users that they can relive those days once again…..kinda. If you head over to Etsy you can buy this awesome NES Skin for just $4 if your here in the US everywhere else….$5. This is a pretty cool way to decorate your Apple TV if you are one of the lucky rich people to have obtained one.

Harmonix unveiled Rock Band Blitz on us last month, its gameplay is the same as the handheld Rock Band game where you use your thumbs instead of an actual instrument peripheral. Today Harmonix dropped some tracks that will be in Rock Band Blitz and it features some pretty cool tracks for you to jam out to while playing. If the title wasn’t giveaway enough, here’s the songs:

New Tracks
All-American Rejects – “Kids in the Street”
Barenaked Ladies – “One Week”
Collective Soul – “Shine”
Elton John – “I’m Still Standing”
Fall Out Boy – “A Little Less Sixteen Candles”
Great White – “Once Bitten Twice Shy”
Iron Maiden – “Wicker Man”
Living Colour – “Cult of Personality”*
P!nk – “Raise Your Glass”
Shinedown – “Diamond Eyes”*
Tears for Fears – “Shout”*

*Used in the title

If that wasn’t enough, Harmonix also released a video that explains some of Rock Band Blitz’s power-ups, you can find that video above. However, Rock Band Blitz will hit Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network this summer.
